This position will be in charge when it comes to age group programming, versus and evening programs. Benefits & Opportunities
The pay scale at Lakeview varies depending on position held, year in school, amount of camp experience, and whether or not you are a returning staff member. Housing and meals are paid for while working at Lakeview. Staff members are able to stay active and participate in activities with campers, such as paintball, high ropes course, tomahawk throwing, and crate stacking.
The benefits of working at Lakeview are not quantifiable because a position at Lakeview is unlike any other. There is room for exponential growth as both an individual and a professional. This position is part of the summer leadership team and is great for someone considering going into camp ministry. As someone looking to enter youth ministry after graduation, I made many connections that will help me find a job after I graduate. |
Requirements & QualificationsLakeview is looking for individuals whose qualities and skills include being outgoing, fun, creative, hardworking and comfortable in front of large groups. I would personally state that event planning experience would help greatly in this position. A love of the outdoors and working with kids will also make this job more enjoyable. Although previous camp experience would be helpful in this position, it is not required (and gave me a fresh perspective).

Achievements
The most rewarding part of being a member of the Lakeview program staff was seeing the enjoyment the campers experienced during the evening programs my team planned. To plan and successfully implement an event each night for four weeks was one of my greatest accomplishments of the summer. My team was able to adapt and overcome any struggles we faced in order for the campers to have the best experience possible.
I learned how to facilitate a variety of activities, including tomahawk throwing, archery, paintball, crate stacking and fishing. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to belay climbers on a rock wall that is on the camp grounds. |
